Coral trade data (ID quota 2020–2024), selection criteria, IUCN status, main exporters, and contextual information per taxon.

Purpose

To inform the preliminary selection of species for the Review of Significant Trade following CoP20 under the CITES framework.

Selection Methodology

The decision tree used to determine the selection criteria for each taxon based on the most recent five years of trade data (2020–2024).

Selection criteria pathway: i. Endangered species, ii. Sharp increase (global), iii. Sharp increase (country), iv. High volume, and v. High volume (globally threatened). *except for the order Scleractinia, where taxa within the top 10% were selected.
